I was 20 or so minutes into a recording and a notification popped up on my phone. I tried to swipe it away but it ended up closing the recording window down and now it is all lost.

Using "Do Not Disturb" mode should prevent interruptions from happening: help.wave.co: handling audio interruptions during recordings iOS and Android give incoming calls priority over the microphone, so there's a hard limit to what any recording app can do here — but Wave now detects interruptions, notifies you, and automatically resumes recording when possible.
